NEVER BOUNCE A CHECK AGAIN!
Announcing the MSECU “Overdraft Advance” service! All eligible members who have a share draft checking account can utilize Overdraft Advance. We will automatically honor and pay overdrafts from eligible checking accounts up to a $400.00 limit. An overdraft fee of $25.00 will be charged for each overdraft honored. We would expect a deposit to cover the overdraft and fees within 30 days. By paying your overdraft in this way, you will eliminate the extra expense and potential embarrassment of having a share draft returned.
All members who have eligible existing checking accounts have received a thorough description of the service and been notified that the Overdraft Advance feature has been added to their account. Of course all members have the option to waive this service. Eligibility requirements and a detailed disclosure are available here. If you have further questions contact our Member Service Department at (800) 700-7733.

Debit Card Changes Comming Soon!
Do you know your options?
Recently, Federal Regulators have made changes to the way that credit unions handle overdraft services that requires your immediate attention. The information that follows should be helpful as you consider your options.
Why is this valuable to me? Perhaps you have been in a situation where you made a purchase with your debit card and suddenly realized the money you had meant to deposit a few days earlier was still in your wallet.
Would the transaction still get approved? Our Overdraft services were designed to help cover those ATM and one-time debit card transactions where funds were not available, saving you embarrassment and the hassles associated with a denied transaction. As your financial services partner, we want to be sure you are aware of the available overdraft protection options to help ensure your transactions are processes.
Beginning July 1st, 2010 for new members and, August 15, 2010 for existing members. If you have insufficient funds for a debit card purchase and have not chosen to Opt-in to Overdraft Advance privileges, your debit card purchase may not be approved.
Consider this: You have swiped your credit union debit card for a purchase. However, you have insufficient funds in your account. Overdraft Advance Privileges would allow this purchase to be approved instead of declined, with the credit union covering the transaction amount.*
For help deciding if this Overdraft Advance privilege is right for you please call or stop by our Credit Union today!
Existing members: If we do not hear from you, after August 15, 2010, your debit card purchase may not be approved if you have insufficient funds in your payment account.
